This book was probably great in the past years of golf. The repairs and such catered to the times when persimmion woods were the top notch equipment of the day. It might be great for those of us who remember when the whipping would come off of your driver and you would have to have the club pro fix it for you.
Very technical and outdated. This book has maybe too much information packed into it. Focuses on older clubs and club making repairing. Good reference book for the club junkie.
This book was clearly more than I had expected. It is a fabulous guide to club repair and fitting. I would think it would meet and exceed everyone's expectations from beginner to expert.
The would have been good about 30 years ago , but is very outdated and I will probably just pitch it
If you have any interest in understanding anything about golf club technology, you need this book. Even more so if you want to "tweak" your clubs. I originally purchased this book when I decided to build a set of clubs over 30 years ago; the clubs are still great but it didn't improve my game. I mislaid the book in a move and bought the newer edition. Still a great resource.
Very thorough book, has all the necessary information pertaining to woods, irons, shafts etc...great step by step illustrations and well written. This book was purchased because i prefer to play and work with Blades and Persimmon woods. I can confidently re shaft, bend, polish etc...without guessing. Also, has a great list of tools/equipment for the hobbyist or aspiring pro club builder. You should have this book in your library...buy it now!
Book was written for clubs before 1990. I thought it would include info on present style of clubs,
