My parasitology professors, Dr. Michael Dryden (aka Dr. Flea) and Dr. Patricia Payne (American Heartworm Association), highly recommend this book. It's written by a husband and wife DVM team, and you can tell they enjoyed writing the book. Not everything is completely up to date (probably impossible with anthelmenthic protocols changing daily, but it is a great reference with really great reference pictures for ID>
Finally, a truly all encompassing text on veterinary parasitology. The information is very well organized, succinct, and relevant. The all encompassing aspect is the addition of an excellent chapter on the histopathological diagnosis of parasitic diseases. Veterinary pathologists now have an excellent resource with very nice images and written descriptions of the salient features of all taxonomic groups of parasites. I highly recommend this text to any pathology resident preparing for board certification.
