Simple, sweet. A bit cheesy from the adult perspective, but my three year old loves it and the simple lines have helped her start sight reading, as she has memorized the story. Good for 2-5 year olds. The moral is that friends stick up for each other and look out for each other, and that life is more fun with a friend.

This is a story with very few sentences and a lot of heart. It's a very cute story about a stick and a stone, both lonely until they find each other. A short adventure ensues, and there is a lot of emotion in the simple story and drawings. My 3 and 5 year old sons really enjoy it.

Cute story to teach kids about friendship. Good size book for little kids, and sturdy pages for years of use. Simple reading- only a few words each page. Also good for learning vocabulary. Add prompts to enhance the story telling experience. Find a rock, stick(glue a fake leaf on) and a pinecone!

This is a wonderful book about inclusion, the power of friendship and the power of forgiveness, all wrapped up with beautifully simple illustrations. It was very simple to use for library storytime by gathering up small sticks, stones and pinecones and letting the kids glue googly eyes on them and take them home to recreate the story for their families. When I read it the first time, I had visions of the book "Hooper Humperdink, Not Him!" by Theo. LeSieg (Dr. Suess) that I read to my oldest when she was young. Both books teach an important lesson with very few words, but the message gets through.

We checked this book out from the local library and my 2 daughters (age 3 & 5) absolutely love it. It's a sweet story about friendship. When we returned the book to the library I immediately ordered a copy to keep.

This book is so sweet. The story is simple, but very catchy. My toddler (2 years, 4 months) is already reading along with me after just a few reads. I love that the message is all about sticking up for and helping out others in need- even if they are different than you. That lesson is a very important one I want to teach my son in this privileged and divisive culture.

This is a sweet story about friendship and using your unique abilities to help others. It is probably most appropriate for preschool and younger school age children, but there are some cute puns throughout the story to make an adult smile too.

My 3-year-old LOVES this book. A great rhyme scheme, lovely message, phenomenal illustrations. I've read it to his preschool class TWICE because it's such a hit. The hardcover edition is solid and great to read aloud -- would make a wonderful gift for a 3- or 4-year-old birthday.

If You ARE a student of thanatology and you're into wanting the smallest of details, you'll love this book!I found it to be a combination of boring yet extremely interesting at the same time for lack of a better way of explaining it.As the survivor of a near death (transcendent) experience in 1981, and someone who has spent years as both a grief counselor and an end-of-life counselor working mostly with hospice patients, I found this book to be both fascinating and enlightening.It's pretty pricey, but the information contained within the pages of this book is very thorough and detailed, and not much has been left to the imagination.If you're really serious about the study of thanatology then this book is for you, but if you're just seeking a "casual read," you may wish to look elsewhere because it reads like more of a technical manual, and I don't mean that as a mean-spirited comment.

If you don't have the heart or time to read On Death and Dying, these questions and answers will be very helpful in dealing with personal emotions and reactions not to mention understanding the view and feelings of the terminal patient. These approximately 175 pages are well worth reading. I do recommend reading On Death and Dying for an in depth understanding of living and dying in today's culture.

We all make mistakes but admitting them is the best example of a leader!!! Kristen shares all the good, bad, and ugly in her book. She is honest and shows that a true leader learns from their mistakes and craves mistakes only to get better!! I was told early on that “I shared too much and was too emotional” Kristen confirmed for me that it’s good to be honest and show you are human!!!It doesn’t matter how long you have been leading or even if you are no longer leading. Everyone can learn from this book if you want to learn!! We all lead in some way or another. Great read!! I couldn’t put it down and changed the way I was leading my kids after chapter 2!!! It’s never too late to learn. Lead by example!!! How else can you learn if not by example!! I highly recommend this book for anyone finding their way and honestly that’s everyone!!!

I loved Kristen’s stories about developing as a leader. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. However, it would be most useful early in your career. In light entertaining style, It reminds us of the fact we are only human and prone to make mistakes. Kristen dismisses the idea of perfection as a goal; instead encourages us to accept and learn from the twists and turns in our paths caused by our own decisions. This book is sure to delight and inspire anyone thinking about starting a business or new career.

This book is very helpful for getting basic details of folk and dance costumes from throughout the world. There are colored sketches of most costumes, but a few more would be helpful. They describe many things that are not illustrated, yet sometimes illustrate items for which there are scant descriptions. Unfortunamtely, however, there are no costumes from most of Africa. This is a serious omission for a book claiming to cover world costume.

Just too elementary for me, the hand done drawings are fine for children to get an idea but as a reference it isn't useful.

Great book for reference. Faces are slightly creepy haha but its all fun.

Illustrated with many beautiful full-color paintings, this book provides an admittedly less-than-complete look at some of the thousands of distinctive styles of dress that have been developed by human societies in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas. For each country there is a picture with a descriptive caption, and a brief written overview, usually no more than one page, of the styles used throughout it. Apart from the illustrations, the very clear type is a definite plus, and the layout is clear and uncluttered. You will need several more books on this subject if you hope to gain a comprehensive knowledge of folkwear, but this is certainly one of the nicest available.

I'm very interested in folk costumes and found this book informative with beautiful illustrations, BUT...it's not, as it claims, a book of folk costumes of the world.Europe (where I live) is shown thoroughly, with examples of costumes even from islands like Sicily, Madeira and Tenerife, while there are not very many costumes from Asia. Africa is represented only by some costumes from North Africa and Ethiopia, Oceania only by Maori costumes. Just four-five of the many gorgeous Amerindian costumes are shown and although Cuba is described in the text, no costumes are shown in the book. I would say the book is eurocentric. If you want to learn more about costumes from Europe, do buy this book, but NOT if you want to look at costumes from all over the world.
