That’s what I needed— over and above other’s opinions. It has helped me to know the facts and make educated decisions regarding the health and vaccination of my baby.

This book is a wonderful resource for parents who want to know more about vaccines and the science supporting them. This book discusses both the risks and benefits of vaccination in a factual manner and sites the research along with links for further information. There is even a supplementary reading section. I have read several books about vaccines, and this is the best one so far . It addresses common areas of concerns for parents and nothing is sugar coated, it contains factual information and shares a few personal stories as well. Great resource!

It is a "Just the facts" type of book. Everything is documented. Enough of the vaccine lies! So many parents are told things that are psuedoscience and this addresses it so they can protect their children.

I bought this and read it from cover to cover and this is definitely the book I am going to recommend to my patients' parents to read. It is the perfect antidote for the Sear's pseudoscience Vaccine book. Vaccines And You Child is scientifically sound, easy to read and trustworthy. An added benefit to getting the kindle edition is that web links take you to sites where you can hear the horrific whooping cough, get information from the CDC and many other pertinent links.Of note, since published, there is an updated recommendation about the meningococcal meningitis vaccine(Menactra). The book says it is a single dose series, but it recently has been recommended that children get two doses, one at age 11 and a booster at age 16 (or 5 years after the first.). As always, check with your pediatrician for the latest and best information for your child.

Vaccines are obviously controversial, and a scary topic to consider for new parents. I appreciated the facts and perspective offered in this book.

Instead of assigning blame to an incorrect cause, these people should be fighting for more research into the ACTUAL causes of autism and supporting institutions that exist to assist people with autism. Some reviewers are scarily vengeful, and have honed their attacks on a very well respected pediatrician at one of the top pediatric hospitals in the US.

Amazing book. Amos Yong has done a wonderful job of representing Pentecostal theology.

Good textbook

This is a seriously monumental text. It is a powerful and constructive articulation of the Christian tradition. It is a genius reformulation of the classical loci of theology in light of the renewal movement in the church. More than that it is a theology that is attentive to the academy, the life of the church and the energy of the spirit. Not reading this book is dangerous for contemporary theologians.

Very informative.

Academically, this will be a significant book. It's engaging, constructive, provocative, and incredibly readable too. Particularly to be appreciated is Yong's application of theologia crucis to Pentecostal distinctives.Catechetically (i.e. for teaching the faith in the church) this won't be a helpful book. (But then, that's not what it was written for in the first place!) It's light on several key doctrines (Person of Christ/Hypostatic Union, orthodox Trinitarianism) and doesn't even touch on others such as faith, grace, works and justification. It's also, at significant moments (e.g. doctrine of Scripture, nature of the atonement, approach to other religions), considerably removed both from traditional Classical Pentecostal theology (think Pearlman, Williams, Arrington, or Horton) and from the beliefs of typical Pentecostal churchgoers (at least in the UK).An interesting read in its own right, and significant in demonstrating the direction a significant amount of academic Pentecostal theology is going, but not sufficiently complete to stand alone as a systematic theology by itself.

I grew up in a Protestant church with no belief in or any knowledge of Purgatory. As a convert to Catholicism over 45 years ago, I was poorly catechized and other than a brief mention of the "concept" of Purgatory I continued to know little about it until reading this book.I recently read The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, translated by John Ciardi (which is available on Amazon and which I highly recommend because of the very helpful interpretations of each Canto, section, and part). It was my best introduction to Purgatory yet and it drove my curiosity to buy Salza's book and read more about it.I love John Salza's lawyerly presentation of "the argument" for Purgatory, which leaves no doubt in the mind of this juror that it is not only real, but a place we can actually be grateful for on the one hand, (there is, after all, a worse place one could go) , and a place if we are better prepared on the other, to avoid, by greater obedience and a faithful life well led.You would be very stubborn indeed if you read this book and held any doubt about the existence of Purgatory. This is a wonderful reference for all those Catholics who believe, but have difficulty convincing others in the truth about this interim destiny for so many souls who leave here with unrepented sins.

Leaves no doubt that purgatory is real and you do not want to be there for too long. Enroll yourself in the brown Scapular of our lady of Mount Carmel and pray your rosary daily. Ave Maria.

This book will open your eyes to what may be in store for many of us and how we need to clean up our acts now and love those we come in contact with in the world. Peace be with you.

The first that seemeds page 17 verification requireed , no foot notes don’t takeAny thing for granted. Keep a Douay Rhemes Bible close and read the foot notes as you proceed with these biblical Claims.I recognize the time consuming effort involved in the Verification of these bible studies so I’m just tossing my Copy in the fire place.It’s just not worth the effort....

The book was awsome. If you don't believe it when you first begin reading...you sure will afterwards.

Well written; understandable.

Like: Sosa provides a compelling argument for the existence of Purgatory: why God's forgiveness doesn't suffice, and why we, upon forgiveness, must offer restitution. He also gives an explanation of why Scripture AND Tradition are needed to understand salvation.
