One of the things I love about Lauren Conrad is her classic, elegant, yet chic style. Watching "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills" as a teenager, I grew up liking L.C and her fashion sense. I was so excited about this book, and Amazon has an amazing (and cheaper) price than most retail/bookstores. The book did not disappoint- if I could buy enough books for all my girlfriends I totally would. This book is a great gift, treat, and personal staple for anyone even remotely interested in the fashion industry, or just the ladies who want in on L.C style tips. I love that this book has two angles, Lauren's personal lifestyle & tips, while at the same time, it includes a lot of classic/helpful information from other sources (such as her styling crew, and other tips she's learned from designers/makeup artists). A lot of the content in this book is also similar to plenty of classic and timeless tips you would get from Teen Vogue, Lucky Mag, and People's Style Watch (which is great, you get a big magazine with helpful tips in one book). The book is overall great- it involves many categories, such as: 1. Shopping tips 2. Closet organizing 3. Makeup 4. Hair 5. Basics every girl/woman should own 6. How to shop/dress for your body shape. 7. Accessories and more!

I've been a fan of Lauren Conrad ever since her Laguna Beach and The Hills days and have always loved her chic style. I considered purchasing this book years ago when it first came out but didn't because I had my own style and was fine with it. Now, oddly enough, I'm in my mid-thirties and a mother of twin toddlers and I realize I am not part of the target audience for this book. However, lately I've become more interested in learning more makeup and style tips because it's fun!Lauren Conrad Style is a well-written style guide that contains many aspects dealing with fashion. This book is divided into three parts: Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle. Within each part are chapters devoted to different categories within those topics, such as "Building Your Wardrobe" and "Accessories" in Fashion, "Makeup" and "Hair" in Beauty, and "Work and School" and "Events and Parties" in Lifestyle. There is information in this book that tells you how to use the same clothes and make it into various outfits using different accessories, dressing for your body type, and how to do your hair and makeup. Personally, I enjoyed the sections on makeup and hair the most since I am looking for fun tips so I can have fun doing my hair and makeup (when I actually have the energy for this since my twins keep me pretty busy). There are a lot of expensive labels and stores mentioned, which may not be possible for some readers to buy and shop at, but it's nice to see pictures of Lauren Conrad in her stylish clothes so you can go to a store of your choosing and find something similar.Overall, I like this book and have learned several things from it. One thing to note is that Lauren Conrad also has a book called Lauren Conrad Beauty, which I have as well. Beauty contains much more specific information on hair and makeup whereas Style gives more of an overview so if you are more interested in the hair and/or makeup aspects, I would purchase Beauty. I would say this book is geared more towards teenage girls and women in their twenties but there is nothing wrong with women older than this buying this book! If anything, I can learn some tips from it to pass on to my daughter when she reaches the teenage years and she can read this as well. The price point is certainly well-worth it and there is a lot of information within the 230 pages of this book so I'd definitely recommend this book to fans of Lauren Conrad or anyone who wants more tips on fashion!

This book has some great beauty and health tips. There are many high glossy photos, but maybe too many as it takes up too much space that could be used for more style tips, etc. Some of the tips are already well-known (my opinion), but plenty are new or I should say new to me. I really like her sense of style and I genuinely like her as a person. She is not fake and comes across as a down to earth kind of gal.

Using this as a "coffee table book"

Please don't buy this book expecting something deep...it's title describes it perfectly- it's about style and how to aquire your own personal style. It was a fun and light read. Lauren has a real grasp on her personal style and was able to share how to personalize your closet quite well. I enjoyed this book and recommend it for those who enjoy this type of subject!

The Fame Game by Lauren Conrad is a cute, funny, and also a dramatic story. It is also a very easy book to read.

I love Lauren Conrad. I watched her on the Laguna Beach and The Hills. I fell in love with Lauren because of her personality and style.I love the formatting of her book and learned some new style tips by reading her book. She covers style from casual to special event which nice. I would recommend this book if you need help with your personal style.

Love Lauren Conrad and her advice in this book is great! Mainly bought this as a coffee table book but the info inside was pleasantly decent.

I am a Debbie Macomber fan and have read numerous books of hers. She's written some of my favorites and her writing has developed through the years with more complex character development. Sadly, this is not one of them. There's an unfortunate trend in publishing where they repackage an author's previously published works to generate more sales. Case in point: this book is copyrighted 1997. And it shows. It is outdated, which I find lazy if you're repurposing the book (taxi drivers take debit cards, who doesn't have a cell phone, etc.) And the main characters are unsympathetic and come across as whiny, the female has a victim mentality, and are downright unlikable.Some books are better left in 1997. This is one of them. Wish I could get my money back.

I give this at least a 4.5 on the star scale and I admit to liking Debbie MacComber's writing a great deal.I did find this one a refreshing and very realistic look at the dating scene today as opposed to years ago before the dating services. Most of the blind dates in this book could have described my experiences and even some of the dating service ones could also have been mine 40 years ago. SO, take heart kids, your life experiences are, it seems, are pretty much in line with the generations before you: even with the expensive services promising you everything you want in a partner.I like the best friend aspect of this story and the fact that they really do make both the best husbands and the father's. Usually, if you have to be anyone other than yourself with your date, I'd say you are already in trouble. Because at some point you will have to revert to who you really are and usually the surprise to your partner will not be a good one.I say read, laugh, enjoy and aborb the truth of this one.

I really enjoyed this story, but it took almost up to the last 3 chapters for me to realise that I had read this story a long time ago. It wasreally sure when Steve was taking his kids and their friends to the drive in movie. That has to happen I guess in time, when I have readover 3,000 books at least since 1998. It might even be more then that I would have to think about that go over the list I have of all theBooks I bought from CBD book distributors, since 1998, and from Harlequin's Love Inspired Books. I am hooked on reading and it sureis a lot more satisfying than the trash they have on T V these days.

I hadn’t read anything from Debbie for a while. Nice to be back! I always know it’s going to be a good read. The story gets your interest from page one, and doesn’t let you go. Great book!

This book was interesting, Sad for me to say but it didn't stick with me as most of her other books do.. but it has been awhile since I read this book :) ... Debbie Macomber, is another of the inspired writers to get involved with her books ..She has so many to mention by name but each one is full of adventure ,Love,and a determined woman who will find her man and her piece of Happily ever after..this woman 's books also shout out ...READ, READ, READ..I LOVE her books.

I enjoyed this book, as I always enjoy Debbie Macomber. I call her books the “feel good” books. I can actually picture the characters and places. Very relaxing for me.

Well, what's there to say. Not very original. Every cliché there is in the book are in this book. First of all, who gets up one morning and decide to get married within 1 year. My guess is if this book would have been 75 pages shorter it would go down easier. The plot is so cliché, the author give the reader a heads up two pages before the punch line. I think this was a hit and miss book.One good think, the blind dates are very funny. Read something else.
