I read this book to my 6 year old grandson. It was his 2nd choose your own adventure. We went through perhaps 8-9 pages before we were asked to choose between 2 options. By the time we reached this juncture, he looked at me and said, "Do we have to read this book.?" I stopped reading.I was bored as well. There are too many Ninja terms. Seems like the author wanted to give a history of Ninja in those first many pages. Hard to pronounce. It did not help the plot. Two characters were trying to back in time. That was all that was important.

My son and I love reading these books while he is in bed before he goes to sleep. I read to him, and he gets to pick the next step of the journey. He gets so excited when finding new paths or opening new doors to additional storie lines. With a quick back story, you step write into the action and off on making the story yours. Sometimes our story ends within 5 minutes other times it could take 20 minutes or longer. All of these books are written in a way to quickly grab a child's (or adult's) attention and keep them there. With so many variations, it is like reading a new book every night. These are great gifts to give someone over a long weekend or over a vacation.

This is not quite as interesting as the Choose Your Own Adventure books that I grew up with. My son and I have tried to read it a few times together, but there are some challenging 'Ninja" type words, and not a very interesting story. After a few minutes, we both lose interest and put the book down. I would recommend saving your money and getting a different one in the series to try.

I was waxing nostalgic, one recent afternoon, when these books popped into mind. Ah, the halcyon days... I remembered being particularly fond of this one when I was a young tyke, and so I made a spontaneous purchase in a desperate bid to reclaim my lost childhood. The wait... twas maddening. I crack open the pages. That new book smell. I get screwed by a corpse in an urn 6 pages in. Infinite rage. The End.

Purchased used as my sons first choose your own adventure book. Book is in like new condition and for fraction of the cost of buying new. Very satisfied and look forward to purchasing the rest of the series

When I was a little girl we used to read these wide eyed until we reach the ending! Unsatisfied, I'd start all over again and do another story, and another story, until I've exhausted all possibilities. Sometimes, my sister would accuse me that I peek at the endings. Lol. That was 30 years ago. Now I bought it for my 6 year old son hoping he will catch the fervor I had for these books, I never wanted to put these books down!

I owned the first copy by the other artist, this one is illustrated by another artist still it captures the idea well enough. If you own this version it has more samurai qualities the original has hot inking. You may want both.

Look closely, this is more like a pdf translation than a kindle book. No navigation built into it to jump from location to location.

Ok, starting point is that I loved City of Skies, so I’ve been looking forward to this one. It was more than rewarding, taking all the great elements from that first book and adding to them. So here we return to the wonderfully rich world created by Farah Cook (and once again wonder at how much fun Norse mythology is when handled right). And greetings again to wonderfully complex Nora, kick-a** heroine (and Lord knows I love a great kick-a** heroine) with her noble cause and great mission to do (see the publisher’s blurb, no need to repeat it here). I adore Nora and her crazily complicated love life (hellooo Frederick you hunk of glory, why did you have to be Nora’s opponent? - oh yeah, that whole “cool plot-line” thing) plus wonderfully developed supporting characters (I love Magnus and Helena, and that Nora’d Family life is also neatly complicated). All in all an addiction that raises the bar, which is all you could ask if a great sequel.Highly recommended.

So far I have really enjoyed this series. Farah Cook has created a world you can visually imagine through her words. There is old legends, along with romance and forbidden love, tragedies, challenges and a bit of dystopian too. The characters are all interesting and the heroine is a very steong female character. So much is still unknown and it keeps you wanting more but gives you enough. I look forward to reading book 3

Finished reading Book 2 - a couple days a ago, really enjoyed the new adventures of NORA and the new abilities she keeps finding out she has. The lands, and creatrures described are amazing. I am glad I did not meet any of them in the 30 years or so I spent searching for agates, minerals and fossils in the woods myself. Look forward to Book 3 in 2018.

This book starts where book one left off. It is a non-stop whirlwind with twists that will keep you off balance. It is hard to put down, I fell asleep reading it and finished it today! Great characters, a great twist on Norse Mythology, and fantastic writing!

I downloaded book 1 on Tuesday, finished yesterday and bought book 2 last night and just finished it! What a book, she has done a fantastic job of pulling you into the story, you can actually visualize what is going on in your head!If you are looking for a great series, look no further, this is the series for you!

this is a good recourse for anyone interested in learning about servicing small engines. It starts with the very basics and goes as far as you want to take it. It also covers tools you will need and how to build a workshop if you are interested in taking it further. The rex is very readable with everything layed out in order. I gave it stars rather than for two reasons. One, it is full of pictures in black and white and some of them are not very clear. They are faded. Two, I wish it covered more engines than what it does. Some of the engines are dated. All and all, I recommend it but if you want to fix riding mowers engines, you need another book.

Nice for grandson learning to work on small engines. Wish if was a more current edition.

It's a very good reference manual if you are looking into fixing 4 stroke engines (lawn mowers and bigger). There is some information on 2 stroke engines but I feel it is geared more towards the larger small engines. I was looking for more information on the weed eater size small engines. Haynes always makes a quality manual. I own one for each of my vehicles and I am very impressed with the manuals.

This is an outstanding reference bookj as well as a teaching aid. I purchased this book because I wanted to learn about small engine repair and this book is well written, easily understood, and has loads of pictures.I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in small engine repair.

As with all of Haynes repair manuals it is very informative, lots of photo's and detailed explanations. If you are planning to repair a snow blower or other small engine, lawn mower, etc this is the manual.Just another of the Haynes manuals i have added to my collection.
