About the Author
Tim Ernst is Arkansas' Wilderness Photographer. He has been hiking, driving and crawling around the wonderful Ozark Mountains for most of his life, preserving the images he sees on film for everyone to enjoy. His photographs have appeared in hundreds of national, regional and local publications. Some of his credits include National Geographic, Audubon, Backpacker, Outside, Outdoor Photographer, American Hiker, Natural History, Country, Chevy Outdoors, and Arkansas Times magazines, Sierra Club and Hallmark calendars, National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service maps and brochures, Readers Digest Books, and The New York Times. Much of his time these days is spent teaching digital photography workshops in the Buffalo River Wilderness.

Surprisingly wonderful. I expected descriptions with a few b/w photos for selected waterfalls. Instead, there are beautiful full color photos of more than 200 waterfalls (second edition) by noted nature photographer Tim Ernst. Each waterfall has a description, maps of roads and hiking trails, trail difficulty ratings, notes about nearby features, GPS coordinates, UTM coordinates, and even notes for “kid-friendly†waterfalls and whether you can see the waterfall from your car. If you’re a devoted Arkansas visitor, keep this book in your car at all times. If you’re more of an armchair traveler like me, “Arkansas Waterfalls†is a delight.
A it was a gift for my husband. He loves taking pictures of waterfalls. Now he can find the best falls and when it’s the best time to visit each one. Very helpful book. Now he has so many new waterfalls to visit, and Never will be disappointed again! Love this book.
So excited to finally get this book! I love the details include on each waterfall! Great source of information. Love the fact that he marks which waterfalls are kid-friendly! Makes this an easy go to book for waterfalls!
We have only read about 30 pages so far but I believe the author knows what he's talking about and he gives you a lot of information. We moved here 5 years ago but do not know many places to go for sightseeing and this book will be helpful. We like photos in the book also.
Great book. Told of some waterfalls nearby that we weren't aware of.
It's a great book with pictures and directions! However the book lists waterfalls all the way through page 300, the problem is there are only 288 pages in the book!!!!! One in particular was the reason I bought the book due to an up coming vacation.
This is a good and complete book on the subject. It is full of great color pictures. Just for reference, most of the waterfalls are dry in the summer.
