This is everything we wanted to help us talk to our 11 year old daughter. She's an avid reader and does better with written information than verbal. I checked this book out at the local library and was impressed so I bought her one on Amazon so she could write notes in it and refer to it. While it was not the only thing we used in our discussion, it was nice to give her something to walk away with for future discussions. Highly Recommend.
This is a tough talk to have with the kids, and I appreciate the approach this book takes: If you are going to have sex, then you must assume you are ready to raise a baby.It's clinical and not opinionated, it discusses dangers like diseases including pregnancy, and it covers bodily changes. But it also covers a bit on how sex is a part of relationships, and no one should feel pressured to have sex.
Just enough information to the get the point across, without going too far. It was for an 11 year old boy, would recommend
I ordered this book to give to my 11 1/2 year old son who decided he wasn’t going to do the homework he was assigned at school for sex ed. This was partly a punishment and partly because he needs to learn about sex and I figured this would be the least awkward way (for him) to teach him. I chose to read the book first to see if it was age appropriate for him and I’m no prude but I was squirming at a few parts just thinking about him reading it. Maybe I’m naive or over protective but maybe I’ll wait a few more months before having him read this book.
My daughter refuses to read this book. Maybe if they were a little more discreet with the cover she would have read it.
GOOD BOOK FOR YOUNG CHILDREN, When that start to ask questions
Informative, to the point. I gave it to my 10 year old daughter, for her reference.
