I really like reading about the AMISH living their lives like they do. Loving their families and having faith in the Lord.
4 starsI received a free copy of The Impossible Choice by Sandra Becker and this review was given freely.The complexity and ease of flow have greatly improved throughout the series. Unrequited love, a quest to find oneself both spiritually and in life work, jealousy, and a violent excerpt are contained in this short novel featuring Noah and his good friend Maya. The story is entertaining, the dilemmas real, unfortunately the outcome of Noah's romance is a little uncertain.
I found this book to be kind of boring. I felt like it was supposed to be a love story, but there was really no romance about it. Noah was "in love" with Maya, the Englisher, but was supposed to marry Rachel, an Amish girl. Nothing ever really happened with either girl. There was some background that was left out.. The author kept referring to something that happened before in their lives, but left me hanging. I felt like the background needed to be explained, but wasn't. I haven't read any other books in this series though. I didn't realize I needed to in order to understand this book. In the end, he never did make a choice between the 2 girls.. You never really find out what happened with them. It was a weird ending. The book just kind of ended, it did not seem like an ending at all and left me really confused and disappointed.
