While the book is helpful in terms of the breakdown of subject areas, there are multiple errors throughout the book and the online test questions. Several answers are wrong. This book was required for my class and other students have noticed the errors as well. I will utilize the breakdown of subject areas in studying for boards, however, I will be purchasing the practice test modules from the PNCB site. I purchased the 5th edition used and the previous owner had marked all the answers. I wanted to purchase this new so that there would be no markings in the book and I would have the access code to utilize the book online. $76 is a lot of money for something with multiple errors.

As I prepare for my final, I have been using this book alot for practice questions. While it is a great review book as it is in outline form and goes over the most important topics. I have noticed that every chapter has 1-5 questions at the end with wrong answers. There are alot of mistakes distinguishing “hypo...” “hyper...”, typos, and just plain wrong answers that if you go back to the chapter and read it clearly states the right answer. Im at a level that I can pretty much distinguish when a questions was published incorrectly, but still ehen studying form an important exam you don’t any material that might give you doubts when your taking your exam. I took a picture with an example of a question, the rational, then the material in the book.

I like the format and it was helpful in guiding my studying. However, as others have mentioned, there are multiple errors including wrong answers included on the questions at the end of the chapter. This happened multiple times (especially in the GU chapter), which was frustrating. Otherwise it was a decent resource.

I did not get paid for this review and in fact, I originally only rented this book to help me study for class. Can I just say how amazing this book was!!!!! It focused on all the important and need to know content. I would highly recommend this book especially for students in a NP program with a Pedi rotation. The book was clear, focused and to the point.

Initially, this book was a little dense. The first chapter is about nursing theories and nothing about patient care. I was worried, but as I continued to review the content and study for my Pediatric NP exam, I was very satisfied with the content reviewed. I am testing in a few weeks and really hope this book, amongst other study aids have prepared me well for my exam.

This book was a great addition to my review course books because it included more in-depth literature of disease processes my other books didn't even mention. However, I did encounter some incorrect answers on the review questions, which is frustrating given the context of this book. Also, there are no rationales for the review questions either, which would've been extremely helpful for learning purposes.

Great review book! I agree with another review that it is jammed/crammed packed with information. But, it was outlined great and covered pertinent information. It also had awesome review questions at the end of each chapter. However, this should not be your only study resource. I used a total of three review books with questions, two texts books, Internet resources, notes from my clinicals, and PNCB questions to study. I passed!!!

I bought this book to review for the certification exam and to help me with my studying during the last 2 semesters of my program. It is pretty good. The pages are thick enough that they can handle being highlighted without bleeding though too much to the other side (very important for study materials!). The information in each section is decent, and there are several questions. However, there are no explanations/rationale for the answers, so that's a missed opportunity for learning. There is minimal information on pharmacology, but I'm trusting them that it has what we need to know. It's not what you'd want to use to study for a pharmacology exam, though. Overall, I'm glad I got it, but it certainly won't be the only study guide I use!

Exactly as described when I ordered. Easy to read, and very motivating. I highly recommend this volume to any pilot that understands a continued education in aeronautical subjects like this is simply one not to pass up.

Prior to transitioning to the Austflight/Maxair Drifter, I found the book very educational and helpful. The items/topics are relevant and, although not a replacement to actual training, this book can help the novice pilot understand the behavior of the taildragger. Furthermore, the book can help prepare for an actual taildragger flight by informing the reader what to expect and how to react in situations peculiar only to the taildragger. I know I have become a safer pilot just by understanding how taildraggers work, thanks to this book.

Great information even to a seasoned pilot

Robson's book has excellent information on flying specific aircraft, especially pertaining to the UK and other European countries. As an experienced pilot, I found much of his aircraft specific information to be excellent and his conversational style of writing approchable. I don't think the new student would appreciate this book until he or she has flown more than one type of tail dragger. But there is a great deal of useful information contained therein. I would recommend Sparky Imeson's "Taming the Taildragger" to beginners and advanced students as well. Or Harvey P's The Compleat Taildragger Pilot Happy tail wagging!

I purchased this book from ASA in 2004 to prepare for tailwheel transition training. The text covers basic techniques applicable to any airplane but the most useful chapter covers Ground and Flight Dynamics (Chapter 2) that impact a tailwheel airplane. I felt that the book was rather "thin" and was padded by adding 90 pages discussing "different" taildraggers, usually rare and unique ones. The cover photo shows a beautiful Ryan WWII trainer but does not discuss this aircraft at all. Most US pilots I know would prefer to have a basic discussion of common types of tailwheel aircraft available to them, especially the kit-built experimentals such as the RV series. I received my tailwheel endorsement in 3.5 hours in an Aeronca 7AC (85 HP) but also received my ASES certificate in 4.0 hours in a Piper PA18-180 on EDO 2250 floats. My tailwheel flight instructor thoroughly reviewed Flight and Ground Dynamics in my first lesson with her. My reading this book prior to my first lesson at least allowed me to be able to verbalize to her my understanding of the concepts she was discussing. Rather than keep the book in my aviation library, I have lent it out to friends who have transitioned to tailwheel training who thought it useful. I currently fly a Taylorcraft BC12-D (65 HP) which handles differently than the Aeronca 7AC on landing. A discussion on these differences in comonly available aircraft would have been very useful.

About the Author

Dana J. H. Pittard retired from the U.S. Army in 2015 at the rank of Major General after 34 years of active duty service. He was a highly decorated combat leader and commanded units at every echelon from platoon to division, including multiple combat tours in Iraq and the Middle East. In 2014, he was picked to lead the initial U.S. response to halt the aggressive spread of ISIS in Iraq. Dana, a West Point graduate and Harvard fellow, is a vice president with a manufacturing company in Indiana. He currently lives with his wife Lucille in the Indianapolis area. Wes Bryant is a former Special Operations Forces Tactical Air Control Party - Joint Terminal Attack Controller (SOF TACP - JTAC), a member of the elite ground combat forces of the U.S. Air Force who serve as combat airpower specialists for America's special operations units. In 2014, as the senior enlisted JTAC to establish the Baghdad Strike Cell, he coordinated and controlled some of the first airstrikes of America’s war on ISIS. Later, he was the senior airpower expert for special operations task forces hunting ISIS throughout Syria and Afghanistan until his retirement in 2018. Wes holds a Bachelor’s in Asian Studies and currently pursues writing, editing, and consulting while teaching traditional Kung Fu. He lives with his wife and daughters in North Carolina.

I love this book, it may be older but it is fabulous! I collect perfume bottles and this is one of my favorite reference books! It has bottles seen nowhere else! From beginning to end the photographs are wonderful, the information is just right, and there is so much here! In fact, I loved the book so much that I ordered the other editions!! This is an absolute must have for the perfume bottle collector! You will not be disappointed. The information is just amazing. The prices may change, but the information and photos are immortal. Do yourself a favor and buy the most current issue also. Collecting perfume bottles is a great hobby and can be lucrative too. This book helps you avoid costly mistakes.

The photography shows nice detail and the text is explanatory. It is a useful resource for those items not easily encountered.

These are the authors' terms for recognizing and augmenting complex interactions among organizational members to achieve better innovation outcomes. It is about actively managing organizations from a complexity science perspective that appreciates how human interaction is primarily nonlinear and constantly adapting to changing contexts. Jeffrey Goldstein and his co-authors really hit a home run with Complexity and the Nexus of Leadership. I've been waiting to see a book like this for a long, long time. I'll use it in my graduate "capstone" course in our Masters in Public Administration (MPA) program and in an executive education course also offered by the the University of Missouri-Kansas City's Bloch School of Business and Public Administration.Could be I'm getting carried away by my enthusiasm for it, but the book could be the butterfly preceding the phase change "complexifiers" have been looking for in the way we think about managing organizations. Bringing in the concept of an ecological system as a metaphor to convey complexity thinking works especially well. And, maybe a minor thing, but I really liked the Benard story about heating fluids and how that was a root idea behind dissipative structures and even, to some extent, self-organization. I have read a lot of complexity-related literature over the years and always wondered where the terms came from.From the standpoint of teaching a course about managing complexity in public, private and nonprofit organizations, two things about the book are especially strong. The first is the authors' extensive use of "real world" cases or stories that helped me respond to students who, once introduced to complexity theory, ask: So what? Or this is interesting, but it's too abstract. How can I apply it where I work? The cases in the book show them how complexity thinking is applied and how it can lead to the emergence of new ideas and new innovations in organizational management.The second thing I liked is the concluding chapter. Again, from the perspective us using the book in a classroom, the last chapter summarizes the previous chapters and ties them all together to reinforce the central concepts in managing complexity without excessive repetition of material previously covered in the book. The end result is a valuable textbook in leadership and managing organizational complexity.Based on all of the complexity-related books and articles already out there, the audience should be warmed up and ready for this book. No doubt, the fact that traditional management models and ideas have taken a serious hit or two in the financial markets crisis, the world-wide recession, etc. too also make this book an especially timely and needed addition to the literature in organizational leadership and management.I noticed that the book is already scheduled to go into paperback so the publisher must agree with me.

This book is essential reading for today's leaders.This book describes key findings from complexity science and applies them to management issues in business, but also in the nonprofit sector. Writers have applied complexity science to the problems of management before, but often the reader comes away not knowing what to actually do differently the next day. This book should change all that. In a series of clearly written chapters, cases and stories are used to illustrate key points from complexity science and the actions that practitioners can take to take advantage of these ideas. It was interesting to learn that success stories like Netflix, Starbucks, Apple, Merck and IBM can all be explained and there secrets understood using these ideas. I believe that this book clearly shows that even the most savvy executive can learn about leadership from this new complexity framing. A useful summary chapter that closes the book is a gem. I know that I will return to it for review again and again to remind me of the key insights that I was able to take away from this book. Reading this book is a very worthwhile investment in time. I strongly recommend it.
